a garden in town

L'Albero di Zelkova, così ricco per i miei sensi, freddo di neve, bagnato, tutto lucciccante nella sera. E il Parco silenzioso, deserto, tutto per me. C'erano, è vero, diversi operai, nonostante il buio, intenti ad allestire le bancaralle e i vari diversivi per le prossime festività. Intere squadre, tutti affaccendati nella luce artificiale, a tirar su strutture e pedane.

The Zelkova tree, such a wealth for all of my senses, soaken cold with snow, shimmering in the evening light. And the Park, silent, with almost no people around, allowing me freedom. There were, yes, some workmen, albeit the darkness, engaged in raising stalls and playgrounds for the upcoming festivities. They were working in the artificial light.

I walk along towards the Circle of Lime Trees, looking for some tranquillity. "Tell some tales about us" - "Are you joking? How can I?" - "Visit on a regular base and tales will arise, spontaneously"

A prayer for Trees in the Park - "Why don't I come here every time I could?"

Alberi, chiamatemi voi! quando mi perdo, quando sono distratto - tornatemi alla memoria, fate sì che mi accorga di voi, ovunque io sia.

Will you call me, trees? when I get lost, when I wander with no purpose - come back to my senses, make me realize that you're there, wherever I may be.

A coltivare una relazione con questo luogo poi, incontrandolo regolarmente e prestando attenzione alle sue atmosfere e alle sue forme, a come mutano nel tempo e a come si trasformano ciclicamente durante il corso dell'anno, può capitarci a volte che siano dei pezzetti di noi a venirci incontro dall'esterno...

In growing a relationship with such a place, in becoming acquainted with it by bringing attention to its colours and shapes and its mood, and the way it changes throughout the year in a cyclical way, it may happen that parts of us will come towards us from the outside for a change.
